A gate intercom that suddenly stops ringing indoors is one of the more stressful home tech faults, since it directly affects who can reach your door. A handful of causes account for most cases.
Power and connection basics
Confirm the indoor unit is actually powered, a tripped breaker or unplugged adapter is a more common cause than people expect. For WiFi-connected intercoms, check the unit is still connected to your network, a router change or password update can silently disconnect it.
Volume and do-not-disturb settings
On app-connected systems, notification or do-not-disturb settings on your phone can silently mute intercom alerts without anything actually being broken. Worth checking the app's own settings before assuming a hardware fault.
When it's a genuine hardware issue
