The complexity, and cost, depends heavily on why the drive failed: a straightforward software-level failure is far more affordable to recover from than physical drive damage, which can require specialized recovery attempts.
Why 'repair vs replace' is really a cost comparison
The real question behind most repair cost concerns isn't 'is this expensive' in isolation, it's 'is this cheaper than replacing the laptop.'
