Both Etisalat and du offer solid fiber home internet in the UAE, and the choice between them usually comes down to pricing, bundles, and availability at your address rather than any deep technical difference, a question we get asked often enough that it's worth separating fact from assumption.
What's genuinely similar
Both providers deliver fiber connections at comparable speed tiers, and both provide a router as part of the package. Neither provider's underlying connection quality is a meaningful factor in how well WiFi performs inside your home, that's almost entirely down to router placement and coverage, not the ISP, fiber is fiber once it reaches your router regardless of which company's name is on the bill.
Where it can matter
The router each provider supplies varies in quality and features, some ISP-provided routers are more basic than others, and this is worth checking if you're relying on the provided hardware for a large home. Availability of higher speed tiers can also differ by building or area, worth confirming what's actually available at your specific address before comparing plans on paper.
You're not locked into the provider's router either way
A common misconception is that you have to use whatever router the ISP provides. In most cases, you can add your own router or mesh system behind the ISP's equipment (or in some cases replace it entirely), which means a basic ISP router isn't a reason to rule out an otherwise good plan, coverage is fixable regardless of which provider you choose.
Switching providers won't fix a coverage problem
If the actual complaint is patchy WiFi in certain rooms, switching from one provider to the other addresses none of that, since the cause is inside your home's WiFi setup, not the incoming connection.
