Windows or Mac for home use: what actually matters

This is one of the most personal tech decisions there is, and honestly, both platforms are capable for the vast majority of home use today. A few practical differences are worth knowing before you choose.

Software and compatibility

If your work uses specific Windows-only software, or you play PC games regularly, that alone often settles the decision. If your needs are mostly web browsing, streaming, documents, and general use, both platforms handle it comfortably.

Hardware repair and upgrades

Windows laptops generally offer more repair and upgrade flexibility, memory and storage upgrades are often possible on models where Mac hardware is sealed. If long-term upgradability matters to you, that's a real factor.

We support and repair both platforms equally, so we don't have a stake in steering you either way. If you're already comfortable in one ecosystem's apps and habits, that familiarity is usually worth more than any spec difference.
